Overdose on elegance and opulence

What’s better than a Tudor mansion? A Tudor mansion within a stroll of the beach, maybe? Once Bournemouth’s most-historic hotel, The Tudor Mansion now welcomes up to 30 chums, hens and corporates looking for a laid-back time amid ornate ceilings, oak panelling, regal staircasing and elegant entertaining spaces.

The Tudor Mansion is a work of art. You’ll overdose on the elegance and opulence. But a dip in a hot tub doesn’t hurt, either. So soak yourself in serenity while the kids scale the outdoor play equipment and swing set. Stay out for al-fresco dining in the south-coast sunshine with goodies from Webster’s butchers and Roebridge Farm Shop.

Come inside to spacious rooms to explore, for family nights around the smart TV: bring your passwords to stream Netflix and Amazon Prime over the in-house Wi-Fi. Cook or be catered for in the modern kitchen and eat around the two banquet tables in the oak-panelled dining room beneath the ornate ceiling.

A dozen beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms enough? Thought so. Need a space to spirit yourself away from the social whirl? Consider the cottage, sitting pretty in the grounds and ripe and ready for recharging the social battery. Explore Bournemouth’s cliffs and coast, then come home to stylish, spacious socialising.

Hot tub, gardens and grounds

The garden’s like an extra room here – an extra room with a six-seat hot tub. Hang out on the outdoor seating while you wait your turn to bubble and boil. Let the kids explore the play area and swing set.

You’ve got grass and terraces to help fill a sunshine-soaked day, so stay out for supper cooked on the gas barbecue and enjoy around the terrace table. Pour another Prosecco and kick back amid the lawns and box hedging.

This is seriously special socialising, decorated with the trappings and trimmings of the higher reaches of period south-coast society. Everywhere you look, you’ll be seduced by the ornate ceilings, the regal staircase, the oak panelling and the feature fireplaces. The Tudor Mansion is elegant and opulent, yet it’s lots of fun too.

Once a mainstay of the Bournemouth tourism industry, this iconic building is now the best kind of hotel: the one where you pick the guests.

So get together with your besties and enjoy a living space divided in two – one area with elegant sofas and armchairs for family TV nights and one with plush armchairs and table, perfect for card games and conversation. Or escape altogether and bag the cottage in the grounds for a more-intimate escape.

What an amazing stay! We had the house for 2 nights and it was as the perfect place for a large group. Plenty of space so you don’t feel like you’re on top of each other, and being only a 10 minute walk into town puts it in a fantastic location! Will definitely be coming back! - Hamish
Excellent location on the quiet East Cliff, the house is gorgeously presented in and out, with meticulously kept gardens and the sea being a five minute walk away. The rooms are well maintained and in character with the rest of the building. The hot tub and children's play area are great additions to keep the whole group entertained. - Mike
