The Old Stone Barns are just ten miles from the “Jurassic/Triassic” beach at East Quantoxhead, popular with fossil hunters. So pack your magnifying glass and find those dinosaurs. Spend the day at Cannington Activity Centre. High ropes, low ropes, climbing walls, they have it all, and what’s more they have something for all ages, so your kids can take to the trees and get swinging! Pony treks, horse riding, show jumping. A day at Quantock Trekking is perfect for horse lovers and beginners alike. The West Somerset steam railway runs just 100m from the back garden. There is a public footpath that will take you to the lineside. You can wander down to picturesque Crowcombe Station or drive ten minutes to Bishops Lydeard and hop on one of the steam trains.

There’s a handful of great pubs close to The Old Stone Barns. You can walk the short mile down the lane to the Farmers Arms in Combe Florey. A traditional pub with delicious food.
