Superbikes and Spitfires

Take breakfast at Beckworth Emporium, shoot clay in the grounds or pheasants next door. See the Superbikes at Silverstone and Spitfires at Sywell. For kids, there’s creepy-crawly fun at Bugtopia, surfing and climbing at Bodyflight, and swinging and gliding at Jungle Parc.

Country kids

If the trampoline, tennis court and games barn aren’t entertainment enough, there’s plenty fun to be had around and about, from wet play to whistling steam trains.

Delve into two million years of history at Wellingborough Museum, fire at your friends in the fog at Laser Maze, dodge or dive into the sprays, squirts and mists at the Aquatic Playground, or see the Spitfires at Sywell Aviation Museum.

Kettering’s the place for crawly, creepy fun at Bugtopia, the steam trains are ready to roll at the Northampton and Lamport Railway, and you can fly, surf, race or climb at Bodyflight.

You can swing, glide and climb at Jungle Parc, lose mum and dad in indoor soft-play centres, and bowl, kart or even zorb to your heart’s content.

For the grown-ups

Ladyham Hall is a place that’s seriously grown-up and local activities reflect that. Nearby is Beckworth Emporium, as good for a side of salmon in the restaurant as it is for fresh produce from local suppliers in the food hall.

If you’re not too full from your Beckworth breakfast, you’ve no excuse not to get active. So fix up some clay-pigeon shooting in the grounds or bag a pheasant or two next door. Ride horses or take a romp around the nearby Pitsford reservoir nature park.

Ladyham is also a neighbour to Formula 1, Superbikes, top touring cars or even great bands at Silverstone. Capability Brown had a hand in the tranquil and extensive gardens of Castle Ashby, and there’s similar serenity on offer at Woburn Abbey, with its acres of history and classic Englishness.
