Gardens and Grounds

With a tennis court

The Hyde has a large, totally secluded garden that includes a large south-facing terrace, tennis court, a small maze, a wendy house and a tree house. The Elizabethan barn on the other side of the courtyard houses a ping-pong table as well as a croquet set and some children’s bicycles.

There are walks around the farm that guests are welcome to use, as well as a stocked trout lake.

The Hyde’s location makes it the ideal base for exploring the huge varieties of local attractions from the antique shops and restaurants of Ludlow, to walks on the Malvern Hills, the book shops of Hay-on-Wye and the Cathedral towns of Hereford and Worcester.

Bedrooms

Upstairs the main house at The Hyde has six lovely large bedrooms, all with pretty views over the gardens and grounds.

It is light and airy with far-reaching views across the surrounding fields. A super king size bed that can be divided, to form two generous singles. Ensuite bathroom.

Bedroom 2: A truly stunning room, with its original medieval carved windbraces. It has a four poster bed and roll top bath, with ensuite WC.

Bedroom 3: This bedroom looks across the courtyard to the Elizabethan barn. It has a king size bed that can form two singles. Next door is an ensuite bathroom with a roll top bath.

Bedroom 4: Facing south over the garden, this has a king sized sleigh bed, with an ensuite shower room.

Bedroom 5: A twin room, with a pair of mahogany sleigh beds, overlooking the terrace, as well as having views across the fields to the west. It shares a shower room with Bedroom 6.

Bedroom 6: Nestled in the old hop kiln, this room has lots of character. With a king size bed that can be divided into two singles. It shares a shower room with Bedroom 5.

The Cottage

The cottage is next to the main house, forming another side to the courtyard. It has ample space on the ground floor to sit and relax around wood-burning stoves, along with its own fully equipped kitchen and eating areas – great for family or friends who need a bit of their time on their own or have children that wake up earlier than others would like!

The Cottage has four bedrooms, accessed via two staircases. Two are doubles with ensuite bathrooms and the other two are arranged as zip-and-links and so can be configured as twin or double rooms. The latter two have their own WCs and share a shower room on the ground floor.
